I was looking through some past email exchanges with twin rig from a while back and came across these pictures. This was apparently a special order boat for someone in the southern reaches of the US. Not a ski boat but very interesting. Maybe a one of one ever built. I have Ab Jr's email exchange with twin-rig but does not specify if there is another. One would think that if a mold was to be created, more than one boat would be produced but stranger things have happened.

I should mention, gotta love the black sox in shorts on the guy on the left:). That's my outfit when I get home from work on the weekdays and have to cut the grass on my zero turn, but I roll them down to the ankles....Apparently Ab Jr's x-brother in law by the email string.

    Hi Jim:

According to the email strings that Roger (twin rig) forwarded me back in 2001 with the pictures, Ab Jr is leaning against the rail in the second pic with his back to the camera. I'd date the pictures in the early 70's, especially with the derby hat. I was 10 yrs old in 1972 and the dress code looks about right (from what I remember....or don't remember). Check your PM btw.

I think I met Ab Jr in 1993 at the WI state show ski tournament. I think he is about 65 now and would have been in his 20's in the 70's if that helps. No PM in my inbox.

I am Pat Miller, Ab Crosby Sr's grandson. Ab Jr is my uncle. This a 42' houseboat, the only one ever produced. I am the little boy in the picture sitting up on top. This was produced about 1970. The hull mold still exist and it sitting at a house along State Road 101 near St. Joe, Indiana, I think the people used it as a hillbilly swimming pool at one time.

Hydrodyne did make several 24' houseboats at one time. (Late 60s), Built on top of the 24' FlatTop hull.

    Hi Pat:

Thanks for enlightening us regarding this particular hull. I can only think that this was "oil" money (aka stupid money back then that the beholder did not know what to do with) or something similar to commission a boat builder to create a mold and build only one hull? Really cool that you saw yourself in the pics but I don't see a PFD. :)
