Since the site is dead I thought I would bombard it with some photos of my 1990 Family Skier I picked up in the fall. Has been in storage for a long time. The registration sticker I removed expired in 2003. The hull is in perfect shape and pretty much just needed a good cleaning. I replaced all the gauges, wiring, and lighting. I also had the stock pylon polished, teak redone and sealed, and reupholstered the majority of the interior to make like new. Trailer got many new parts, LED lighting, new wiring, and new tires. Few more things to figure out in the spring and it will be ready to go.
Very nice work. Love the color combo on the boat and the detail work really looks great. I'm sure you have mentioned it but what kind of power will it have?
That had yet to be determined over the next couple months. Not sure what brands I am wanting to go with yet, but as far as hp I am thinking a 225 will suit my needs just fine. Greg
Thanks for sharing Greg. Looks like a nice setup with a lot of creature comforts for multiple passengers. BTW, Where did you find the Airguide gages? They look fantastic! Kevin-
The Airguides are original. I just pulled them apart and gave them a good cleaning. I also replaced all of the gauge halogen lights with new bright white LED bulbs. Makes a huge difference at night time and uses significantly less power draw. Bow light is LED too. Rub rail is original and like new. Hull has only a couple minor scratches on the whole thing. I don't think the boat was left in the water much if at all. I think it has been on a lift or trailered is whole life.
I have 2 airguide speedo's that are collecting dust. I sure would like a ski pole that goes thru the rear motorwell and has legs that mount to the rear. Greg your boat looks awesome. What Wisconsin lake do you use? I did my damage on Boom lake in Rhinelander with the Hodag Watershows. I grew up on that lake and my sister now ownes the house so at least I have a bed and a dock when I come up there.
That old registration sticker was from the previous owner. But I will mostly use the boat down here in IL on the Fox chain, but when I go up north to our summer place in Eagle River I will be using it on the Eagle River chain of lakes. Tim how is your project 20' twin rig coming along?
