Here is a link to the Chain Skimmer web page that contains one of my favorite Dyne pictures. The picture is old and grainy but it shows the boat in a steady state tail stand. He could hold it there. The Chain Skimmers are an amateur team in Conover WI. The driver is probably Ryan Short. I tried to link to just the picture, but it did not work. http://www.angelfire.com/sk2/chainskimmers/boats.htm jim
Jim, I actually got a better one than that with Ryan driving it. I am going to try and find it, scan it, then try to submit it. This one is awesome. Virtually vertical, fin is clear as a bell! Greg
Greg, You will have to host it somewhere on the net and just link to it. This site does not provide for uploading pictures. jim
I just ran across this picture today. This might be the one Greg was referring to. This was taken in 1993 at the Chain Skimmer's site in Conover, Wi.
That is the photo! I have another one somewhere where he is going the other way where you can see directly in the inside of the boat. Greg
Do they still do the tail stands in the show? I've been to a show or two each of the last few years and haven't seen them do it.

No, I live in FL. You have to be careful about linking directly to some of those team pictures. They might not like that without permission. jim
These are pictures of the original Hydrodyne, built by Ab Crosby, Three Rivers Industries, and the original Dyna-Ski, built by Tom Miller, Fiberglass Product & Boat Repair, Inc. Starting with 2006 our boats are called THE DYNE, to avoid any confusion with dyna-ski boats being produced somewhere in WI. Engine manufacturers frown on tail walking the rigs because of the stress on the engines. The Only two boats this has been tried on are the first two mentioned above.
