Actually not sure why it kept it on the Water Bugs. It was the live feed when I posted it. Now it's just a video from earlier in the day. Heck if I know. ha ha!!
Shows have come along way since I did that. Hodag Watershows did a 14 person 3 tier pyramid in the mid-late 70's and it was the biggest there was. Even more remarkable is that we pulled it with twin 115 Jonhsons. Back in the day they did not rate HP at the prop so we probably did it with 200HP.
Aquanuts won. All the team and individual performances are on youtube and were streamed live on youtube. jim
A few of the shows have been blocked. It was stated as something along the lines of copyright infringement. The Twin Cities River Rats show was one of them. If anybody knows more details on the specifics of why they were blocked, I am interested to know. You can do a youtube search for the beginning string of the title above "2015 DIV 1 show ski nationals" to find the other segments.
I got the river rat show just now. I also got the message about copyright infringement a couple of time for various teams. I just waited and the message went away and the show came on. I can't find one that I can't watch. There seem to be no recent discussions on showskiers.com or on the show ski facebook page. Where are the show skiers meeting? jim
Purely speculation, but my best guess would be that copyrighted music could be heard in the recordings. They have gotten absolutely militant about that. I know there was some discussion at http://www.showskiers.com in the past about the show music, and how few teams actually have ASCAP/BMI/etc. public performance rights. Absolutely ludicrous that the music industry would ever care about things like that...they should be happy somebody is using their music...but no such luck. I haven't been involved with the music industry for a number of years, but I remember them coming after high school and middle school bands for performances and such. Completely unacceptable in my book.
It has been a while since I have been involved in the Nationals, but in my day we submitted the music to USA Waterski and they took care or the rest. jim
