Here is a video I found on youtube. Don't think I've seen the video on this site, only pics. Turn up the volume. Glad them motors aren't mine!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSufUWimFHM
I have seen this video before. I think its really cool. almost looks like the boat is going to flip backwards at some points.
That's the MinocquaBats Dyna-Ski. I took a bunch of video clips of this boat doing its thing this summer and sent them to Daniel for the media section on this website. The engines are white Evinrude 150 salties. They look pretty good on that red boat, although I'm not a huge fan of the boat color. The video clips on Youtube were taken - I think - by someone associated with the ski team. My clips are similar, although I have better shots of the boat doing some other manuevering, too. Hopefully they will be posted on here soon. Markbano
cool video i am glad it has been posted also if somebody could post it ,there is a video of Mike Mohr doing a tail walk with a rapid craft with a 150 mercury on you tube! he performs it very smoothly not jamming the throttle down like some do.
Those motors are tough and those Dyna-Ski / Dyne transoms are tough. But neither were ever designed for that!! Not extensively anyways!! Too much torque between the transom and the hull me thinks? Over time something would have to give. Even moderatly used twin rigged dynes have shown there wear. But then again,, what other boat can do this with twins and triples? Cool video. But I gotta agree with GaDyne and say I'm glad those motors aren't mine. Kevin
The guy I sold one of my old 20 footers to used to be the treasurer for one of the local clubs. He told me that they used to tail walk the boats until they blew up a set of motors from water injestion. They dummied up and sent them back to Mercury for warantee. Merc sent them back repaired, but said they had taken in water and with it came a hefty repair bill. Needless to say they are no longer tail walking boats in their shows. Bob
Yes, but let me add this footnote. It is a GREAT idea when it is someone else's boat and I get to watch and photograph the event! I was at the DeKalb County (Sandwich) fair today with the kids. We had front row tickets for the tractor pulls. What fun. There is nothing like watching other people blow up expensive engines in the name of raw fun....
Mark, Well,, now you've got me thinking outside the box again. I have to ask... How long before we see the first Dyne PULL?? I saw an Etec commercial once that had two boats pulling against each other. So, how about getting Evinrude and Mercury to triple rig a couple of 20'ers and let them go atter!! Sorry, couldn't resist. Kevin
