motor questions

    The boat is designed for skiing. It will pull very well with the right prop. All of the inboard tournament ski boats are slow. The bow of an inboard is forced down into the water to produce a good wake and handling. This creates a lot of drag.

    I guess what I am saying that if you want a good ski boat wake there is a trade off in speed. I suspect that your boat will get into the 40's with the right prop.

    My daughter has a 17.6 Dyne ski boat with a 75 outboard. It tops out right at 40 trimmed up.

    The handling is a lot of fun. It banks into the turns like all the soft chine boats do. There are many pictures on this forum of Dynes in hard turns.

    The Dynes are all excellent ski boats, but they won't go 80 with any amount of power. Most of them are propped down to hit the rev limiter in the 40's. You don't need more for skiing.

    Hello everyone we got the new motor in today its a b20 verses the b18 that was in the boat , it has a 170 outdrive on it . the drive mounts to the transum a little different so we are not sure it is compatable or not , we hope so. My mechanic is doing some research on it to see if it is possible any help from you,all we be of great help thanks Ronny
