Value determination is a difficult thing with these boats. In the late 60's, I believe these hulls were under a thousand bucks brand new. There might be others on here more knowledgeable about that but I don't think I'm too far off.

A used, original condition (not restored) late 60's Tournament Skier outboard boat with no motor, solid balsa core and a good transom is probably not worth more than $2,500. I have seen them go for giveaway or $500 if they need a transom. If they need a floor they are usually worthless, because before 1971 the floor was also the hull (i.e. - no raised floor) and a rotted balsa core is essentially not worth repairing in most cases. Fully restored I think it could bring a good bit more - maybe $5,000 to $7,000 with a good period motor on it. Obviously, there are many factors that can impact upon value in a restored boat, such as engine, steering (cable vs hydraulic) and rigging.

You will see very, very nice restored inboard Tournament skiers of this age giong for $4,000 to $6,000.

You more or less have to accept that one of these restorations will not make the boat valuable enough to get your money back out of it. But for insurance purposes, if you have the boat and trailer insured for $10,000, you would be more than adequately covered.
