Hi All, Hopefully these pics go through. I have since removed the floor and will redo stringers. One of the engines is shot I was told the other one works( I have no idea). I look forward to the project and Mark is close so I'll be picking his brain! I have seen some talk about the Chain Skimmers I was in the club when it was at Everetts Resort in Eagle River. Great Site! What a great motivator. Regards Scott
Yes it was before the T docks maybe early 70s. Im 48 so it was a long time ago. I had to get a job and my skiing suffered. I washed dishes at the Chanticleer(sp).Remember Jake?
It is nice to know the history. For some reason I always thought they started out at the T-docks. I skied with the team from 1987-1993 at Lake Pleasant so technically there was no "Chain" in Chain Skimmers. Sorry, I don't know Jake either. They just had the 35th Anniversary reunion & alumni show last year. It was a lot of fun. I think they are planning another one for 2010.
Why hello there fellow Skimmer alum. I too skiied with them from 1986-1989 on the Junior team, and then until 1995 on the the seniors. I saw a show on video once when the performed on Catfish Lake. Who doesn't know Jake? Pam he is the owner of the Chanticleer Inn. He has the best dam brats on earth! Nice Dyne, looks like a fun project. Should be cool when it is finished. Enjoy the web site. Well, apparantly I am the only person around here who doesn't know Jake. I am going to hunt this poor fellow down the next time I am in E.R. and introduce myself.
I don't know him either. We never hung out in Eagle River much. We were busy skiing instead of eating brats. dad
Everyone who has cruised the Eagle River chain of lakes knows about Chanticleer's brats. They have been well known for their brats since the early 1980s. He is almost as famous as Holiday Harbor's burgers. Too bad Bob closed it though.
If you watch the videos the dyne in the old ones from the early 60s from guam has Johnsons on it. You don't see to many with old OMCs still around. Daniel
Greg, don't forget our cabin was a different state! I don't think I ever cruised the Eagle Chain, but I cruised around in the wilderness quite often.
