My son put together a little swivel ski video for me from our trip to Florida last week. I apologize for the generic youtube music. The song we wanted to use is copyrighted. Anyway, we had a blast skiing behind my dad's boat (Jim) and making the movie.

Don't miss the canoe paddle and kneeboard---after the credits.

Great, as usual Pam. She had not skied since last summer.

Thanks Greg and Dad. You guys are sweet. I wanted to include some footage of Josh wakeboarding, but he was being a little camera shy, so I will post a picture instead. Shhh, don't tell him ;). He will be 13 years old in a few weeks.

    Lookin' good Pam! Nice work!

Would you mind if I put this in the Member's Video section as well? Heck, if you want to upload a copy there with the music you wanted to use, that's fine too. I don't remove any copyrighted material without a DMCA notice (through the mail) from the copyright holder. ;) A little different than Youtube.

Bryan, I was going to upload it directly to the site with the other song, but it had a warning about uploading copyrighted material. That is why I went the youtube route. If you think it is ok, I will upload the other version right onto the site. It is just slightly different.

Hi Pam and Jim. Very impressive! Please tell me the trick to the paddle. I'd like to have a go! Greg

    Hi Greg,

    She is amazing.

Nice to hear from you. I know how she does it, but I will let her explain it.

The driver should should do a start like a normal two ski start and take the boat up to about 25 for you. If the spray is in your face after you drop the ski the driver should pick up the speed just enough to get the spray below your face. For Pam the initial speed is about 20-22 and I think the final speed is 25+. At that point I am watching her and I did not note the speed. I have driven that boat so much that I don't refer to the instruments much. I do carefully monitor speed when she is swiveling, but i think I could do it by just watching her.

Thanks Greg! Skiing on a canoe paddle looks impressive, but it is actually really easy. Place the canoe paddle on the foot you ski on, blade forward and a combo ski on your other foot. I like to have my toes on the blade and my heel on the handle, but you might have to play around with foot placement depending on the size and shape of the paddle. Have the driver drag you a little ways to keep the paddle in place on your foot. Once I am up, I scoot my foot forward just a little bit. Then, it is just like dropping a ski. Like my dad said, you will need to pick up speed to get the spray out of your face. Have fun!
