is there any way to get the design lines or offsets of the 18' outboards from the 60's ? or does anyone have detailed measurements of the hull ?
There is one mold left in St Joe IN that you could measure. You don't say your location. If you would consider that, contact Tom Miller. His contact info is in the Tom Miller boats section. jim
I'm in Vermont and I have never seen any hydrodynes around here to even look at . So your all probably going to laugh but I want to build a ski boat from wood and I wanted to build it similar to the 18'. That's why I was trying to find anything I could for measurements to try and come up with a set of plans . Any information anyone has would help and be greatly appreciated .
The hull is all compound curves, so a strip built hull would work. Plywood will not work. The design is typical of many round chine boats. I have a '55 Thompson cedar strip boat that has a similar hull. It would be easier to buy an 18 and add a wood deck. I suggest that you contact the site administrator and ask where the nearest member is to you. jim
