You sure about the year and/or make? There is no such thing as a 1974 Crosby, at least made by Ab Crosby.
May be a crosby sled. I think they were built by Herb Crosby, a cousin or nephew of Ab. There were many Hydrodynes rigged here in Donalsonville at City Motor Marine back in the day. I still don't know the whole story but Hydrodynes were sold here back in the late sixties by Herb I think. My uncle is the original owner of a 67 or 68 that was a demo boat (twin 125 Merc) that he and his brother bought.
YOu are correct. Herb is Ab's brother ( I am Ab's grandson). I beleive they did sell some Hydrodyes in Donaldsonville at one time (dealer) and actually produced Crosby's in the late 50s down there.
It is a Crosby indeed. It has similar lines to my 1964 Crosby Custom Ranger. It has carpeted step ins, Crosby labeled glove compartment, similar steering wheel mounting.
