I was thinking about planning a Hydrodyne Get together (Regatta) some time in 2008. I will probably make it in the midwest since I am one of the few on the west coast and everyone else is pretty much in the Mid-West.

I would like some input on whether people will make the drive, where we could have it (I would like it to be near someone that might be able to do some leg work) and who might attend.

    I have a suggestion,

Come to the show ski nationals. They are in Rockford, IL in 07 and probably in Janesville, WI in 08 although that has not been announced. You will see all kinds of twin and triple rigs in action and parked in the lot. You will see an occasional 18 still working. This is a big show and rooms need to be booked way in advance, way, way in advance.

They do some unbelievable stuff at that tournament. Tom Miller is always there with a boat.

You could fly and rent a car in Chicago and make it a lot easier.

I'm just north of Madison, our lake is 6600 acres. I'm sure we could do something at our show site also if there is interest. There is a boat launch right there, ski jump etc.

I would suggest to have this event after the show ski season, probably in September, and south of Wisconsin for weather considerations.

I'll certainly be there whenever it is set. I think this is a great idea. I'd love to see the boats and meet other Hydrodyners members.

My I suggest this location for the Regatta? Please Disregard the Storm Damage Pictures. I guess that just happened. http://www.maulden.net/kinkaid/kinkaid.htm

Hey, I've skied on that lake before! It's a nice lake and it is always fun to freak out non-show skiers with some toe turns.

I think that's the lake with the really wide boat ramp, right?

That's the one. We went there the day all of the debris and large trees were coming down the river.
