77 Flat Top

    1977 Hydrodyne 20' Flattop
    she is back in the family. Sold her 15 years ago due to circumstances but kept track of her. Bought her back last weekend. Welcome home!

    Hey Scott,

    Looks like one of the later or late # flat tops built. Do not have any info on their production duration but looks like it is/was a nice latter production rig. What was the hull length BTW.

    Yes, a 1977 20 footer, 140 HP Mercruiser 4 cyl engine with around 1200 hours. She was the third or fourth boat in the fleet owned by a gentleman who bought her from the guy I sold her to 15 years ago. I kept track of her, befriended the man who bought her, and bought her back. Eventually a full restoration will take place, I already have the plan. She is in good shape.

    Just curious how fast does she run with 140 outdrive ?

    A good question. On a flat lake she will run mid 40s. However, I never open her up. She has 1200+ hours and a rebuild is in the future. I normally run her in the mid to upper 20s at most. Never in a hurry with her.....
