If it is new-in-the-box and comes with the pitot (intake) and equalizer tube, they usually go for $100-$120, which is about what I paid for mine. They are getting harder to come buy new, as they are not made anymore. You do see new ones on Ebay from time to time.

Used, they are priced all over the place on Ebay.

Mark, Thanks for the reply. I have been watching the speedos on E-bay for a while, They usually have a "buy it now" price around 99.00 plus shipping.

The trick can be getting two matching airguides. I did pay a lilttle over $100 apiece but I was buying a matched set that were new and the seller knew he had me right where he wanted me! He had six of them and he sold all six pretty quickly on E-bay and did better than $100 on all of them.

I just mean two that have the same bezel and face. Same model number.

We should use our power of numbers and see if we can get a company to rebuild these things. I mean if we throw 20-30 of them at a company that should be enough to get them to bite. Any suggestions?

What is involved in rebuilding one? Is there a jeweled bearing? I should buy one attached to an older 1972 or so Dyne and see what it is made of.

I have been watching the E-bay site that has Airguide Speedos, and I have seen one company list a "buy it now" price around $99.00 plus shipping, and approx 30 availble. There are also brand specfic (sp) AirGuides on the E-bay site. There are a few out there, the trick is to find one, and not get gouged on the price.

There are two different styles of airguides. The late model that is flush mounted and the early larger model that stands off from the dash.

The late model has a plastic case and is a little tricky to get apart, but I have done it. The early model is all metal and is easy to get apart.

The failures I have seen are a ruptured diaphragm and a broken adjuster knob. If water gets into the diaphragm and is allowed to freeze (very common) it ruptures the diaphragm. This is repairable in some cases but is VERY tedious. The broken adjustment knob requires new parts which could be made. Sometimes they just need to be cleaned.

It is also common for the needles and faces to fade. This is repairable.

Many of the inboard guys are switching to perfect pass and are getting rid or their airguides, so there are some used ones around. It you can buy them (new) for $100, I believe that is about the going price. When they were in production the later models went for $30-$40.

The reason I asked the question about the matching pair is that I bought a pair of new ones off of e-bay and picked them up in Orlando. The seller tried to tell me that they were a matched pair calibrated to read the same. I told him that I calibrate mine every time out with the adjuster knob.
