This subject was being discussed on the Glasspar boards as well. They want to make some reproductions of emblems as well as pennants for the boats. Michael has been jumping through the hoops trying to get this done. Don't know the current status. He has to deal with Larson who bought out Glasspar. Would you believe I even ran into a problem wanting to copy the front covers of my Sears Catalogs. I defaced all the Sears Catalogs I bought (1957-1967), cut out all the boat pages and put them in plastic sleeves for easy reference when identifying a boat or motor for fellow Elgin owners. I didn't want to cut the covers off as I thought someone else could use the catalogs for other things.......so, went to the copy place as I wanted them printed in color as well as on card stock.....thought that would be cheaper than using all my ink plus buying the card stock. Well, the guy there said he could not copy them as they were considered art and were copyrighted. Jeez! BUT the guy said if I just put them on a disk and then ask him to copy he can't see the copyright information on the back of them. Nice of him......went back and he did it for me. You would think that a club perse, which is not out to make a fortune should be allowed as it would promote their boats. I guess people just want every buck.
