This thread is worthless without more pics!!!!! Just kidding - nice boat, let's see the interior. What type of control, prop.....
Here's my best guess - 1989 boat with a 2001 motor. I'm pretty sure on the motor because they only offered that graphics set one year. Wink
The boat is a 1990 and the motor is a 2001 225 Johnson. I obtained it from the owner of a boat dealership in Wisconsin. I was told it originally had a 140 hp on it. It has never sat outside except when in use. Interior is flawless and original. Controls and guages are all updated OMC. I run a 17 pitch renagade prop for all around family skiing. I will post more pics shortly. I am looking for other pics of open bow Dynes and some info on how many were made. FamilyDyne
FamilyDyne, You are probably aware that Ab Crosby Jr designed and built your boat. He is a member of this forum and answers questions here on a regular basis. His screen name is Ab Crosby. You could start a new thread under Hydrodyne boats and ask the question or just PM Ab. I though his e-mail address was in one of his posts, but I could not find it. I feel sure he would PM you back with a phone number to contact him. He can tell you all you want to know about that boat. Great looking boat, by the way, and I like your prop choice. jim
VERY NICE OPEN BOW...WE TOO HAVE A FAMILY SKIER 20, PURCHASED BRAND NEW IN 1989 FROM TWIN LAKES MARINE. AFTER A COUPLE OF SWITZERS AND A MASTERCRAFT WE DECIDED WE NEEDED SOMETHING A LITTLE MORE FAMILY FRIENDLY WITH AN OPEN BOW. WE LOOKED AT ALL THE RUN OF THE MILL DEEP VEES AND WERE NOT IMPRESSED. BY SHEAR CHANCE I WAS IN TWIN LAKES AND SAW THE DYNE BANNER ON THE BUILDING, STOPPED IN AND TO MY SURPRISE THERE IT WAS AN OPEN BOW HYDRODYNE, TEAL GREEN AND OFF WHITE WITH A MERC 175, I BOUGHT IT THE NEXT WEEK AND HAVE HAD IT EVER SINCE. THE BOAT HAS SERVED TO TEACH BOTH MY KIDS TO SKI, IT HAS SEEN COUNTLESS HOURS PULLING OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS THROUGHOUT THE MIDWEST. WE EVEN TOOK IT FOR A WEEK LONG JOURNEY ON THE NORTH MISSISSIPPI RIVER VISITING SEVERAL MINN. TOWNS ALONG THE WAY AND SKIING AT THE BIRTHPLACE OF WATER SKIING, LAKE CITY MINN. OUR DYNE HAS SERVED US WELL AND TO THIS DAY IS ALWAYS GARAGE KEPT AND IS IN EXELLENT CONDITION. WE RUN A 19 HIGH FIVE PROP, SEA STAR HYDRO STEERING. HAS A BAREFOOT BOOM AND BOW CANVAS FOR THE COOLER DAYS. ITS NICE TO HAVE A BOAT THAT SERVES OUR RECREATIONAL NEEDS AND STILL GIVES WORLD CLASS SKIING PERFORMANCE. THANKS AB. I WILL DIG UP SOME PICTURES AND POST THEM HERE SOON.
Great story, It is nice to see some Dynes that have been well cared for. I see so many that have been rode hard and put away wet. jim
