Ok now i have a problem trim is Ok angle and operation. what i found is at the back of the hull has a slight hook to it when i had the boat flipped over during painting i guess i never payed attention to that. hook must be about a foot round and about 3/8 in at worst this is on both side and at the rear of the boat. this is probably causing water to force down words and away from the prop causing my cavitation problems and also my nose of boat to be forced into the water at about 26 mph also causing lack of top end. can anyone tell me what i should do to fix this problem . also there are no soft spots on the hull and the floor was replaced with some stringers about 15 years ago old owner told me the boat always did this but i want to fix the problem... please help thanks.
Tap on the hull with a hammer. A "dead" sound indicates water in the balsa core. The hull must be straight for good performance. I am not sure that I follow your description, but a 3/8 hook is huge and would destroy the performance. The boat was definitely not built that way. jim
I agree. Sounds like a transom repair gone bad or the hull has serious structural issues. Do you know if the transom was ever replaced? How far forward of the transom does the hull start to angle down? Kevin
the transom has never been replaced or repaired and as far as my friend that owned the boat before he had only replaced the floor and one stringer that's all the history i have on it . ill try to get some pictures of the spot that im talking about
