Hi everyone, My names connor and im knew to the boating world. A few months back i picked up a boat from a buddy. We did some trading and in return i had gotten a boat and matching trailer from him that i believe to be somewhat rare and possibly of some value. From the best that i can tell it is a 79 hydrodyne Tournament Skier Curt Gowdy Edition. i cant find any information on it and even when i run a check on the hull number i get nearly no information. The title says its a 79 and theres paperwork for the engine and lower unit and such. It is equipped with a 305 Mercruiser And a Mercury 898 outdrive. I/O. I will post some pictures when i can get them but for now. Have any of you heard of anything like this?
If you use the search function on this site, a search for Curt Gowdy will bring up a few other posts related. From what I recall, that was basically an options package around that time. Can't really offer anything more, but maybe the other threads will have something for you.
I have a 1979 Curt Gowdy boat also. Curt Gowdy was a sportscaster and hydrodyne built a couple boats for a ski jump contest that used his name. Supposedly it was in Texas if my memory serves me correctly. I talked to the original owner of my boat and I think that's what he told me. Mine still has the Curt Gowdy ski jump classic stickers. If you search my post I think I have some pics of when I first got it. It had an interior setup like the imperial models with pad around the coping and dash.
