The Kansas State University waterski club is using my 1982 Hydrodyne (1982 Mariner 200 hp) for the next three years. My son was bragging about the greatness of Hydrodynes, only to find that no one on the team had even heard of one. Growing up in Wisconsin, I can't imagine anyone that has skied or watched a ski show, not to know of them - but us Banovetz's are nuts about boats. I will post some pictures when they arrive. My college son did find it difficult to get the boat to make a wake big enough to do a back flip on a trick ski. But it is a joy through the slalom course. This is the boat dynebob1 found for me in Michigan. Thanks Bob - we have had two great summers skiing with it in Madison and Boulder Junction Wisconsin. PS - Jim - i did some carb work, changed plugs, etc. It still isn't running correctly. Probable need to check compression. We adjusted the throttle cable and got reverse to work. Some small metal guide was in the path of the linkage underneath. I only had small parts of two days to work on it. Now it is stuck 11 hours away in Kansas. Thanks for your help. Funny note: We were on a friend's 21-ft Moomba (320 hp inboard) last Sunday. Our issue is that so much water (spray) comes over the bow that we are always soaking wet, as well as our towels, clothes, equipment, etc. Anything valuable has to be stowed away in waterproof compartments. We spend marginal weather days shivering. What gives? Steve Banovetz
Steve, That's a great picture of your boat !!! Here's a picture of my newest project. ( twin rigged 20 footer) Bob
Jim, Don't think I'll be tail walking this one. It's in nice shape and I'd like to keep it that way. I am going to two tone it with the red stripes like the R.A.J.'s boats. It came with standard rotating lower units on both engines so I purchased a brand new counter rotator for the port engine. Have a refurbished tandem Trailmaster trailer for it, had Dwane Snow make me up a new stainless mirror mount for it, had K.W. make up a triple trick release, and had the seats recovered. Still a work in progress, but it's a fun project. Keeps us old retired farts busy........ Bob
