Here's our team's old Triple Rig, unfortunately we lost our Mercury Sponsorship. We had triple 150's on it now we got twin 225 Evinrudes on it, which do just fine but those trip mercs were nice.

I have used the picture of the 3 150s for a header. It is up today, after that it will be in the rotating pool of pictures that change on a daily basis. You can also see it at the link below.

Is the Hydrodyne 18 still used for show work? I wonder how many 18's are still used for active show duty. That would be interesting to know.

Have you had a chance to run it with the 225 Merc yet? If so, how does it perform? How did it perform with the 200? I'm rigging my 18 with an Opti 225 now and would love to know how a 225 works out on the 18.

For quite some time when there were no dynes being built (1993-1996) clubs were scrounging for any dyne to use and many were being restored. There were quite a few 18's around then. This was right when we founded our team and it was impossible to buy a used twin rig then because no one was selling one. The 5 seasons ski team in Iowa still uses one and for many years they had two with single 200's on them. Catfish Bay out in Sioux Falls still has an 18 with a 200 on it.
Now it seems like the paradigm is to have an inboard or two sponsored and a twin rig/triple rig or two. Used 20's are much more available than 18's and for show use they ride a bit better in the rough stuff and keep you more dry. We have all dynes because there is no inboard dealer close to us to get any kind of a deal, and I know the hulls pretty well and it has made economic sense for us to just own the hulls and repower them often. We buy a new boat every 3 years whether we need to or not. Oldest twin rig gets sold.
