Also, It is clear that that 18 has a 25" transom. Some clubs have already gone to that up here and I am sure it will become more and more prevalent as all the deep V walleye boats have 25" transoms on them now. Just easier to resell a 25" motor.

I have heard that the Gulf Coast Skimmers in Naples run two new 18's. I also heard that one is twin rigged. I have not seen them myself.

Jim, gulf coast skimmers aren't around anymore, they now run a ski school off of the beautiful site they got at sudgen park, they have a nautique or 2 there for the school, some skiers split off and started another team, southern extreme, they run a 18 foot dyne, and a 20 ft dyne, both are old boats.

jachainskier, Im going to try and get some more close-up this weekend, we've been skiing since january, it never got to cold down here, and just couldn't stay away. the 18 has probably been used for the past 10 years, in our shows on a regular basis, and every tournament.

markbano, the 225 merc has been on since the end of last summer, its been great. a 300 yamaha vmax was on it and that hauled a$$, but couldn't hold a swivel ski speed, so we ditched it. they tried moving the motor up and down on the transom and nothing fixed it. decided to go back with a merc. and surpirsing it hauls a$$ to, i think all in all we liked it better then the 300 yamaha.

jachainskier, Oh and eugene probably hasn't skied with us for a few years now, he was last show director in 2003, and i think he was about done after that. he has had a few injuries, pretty bad spider bite, think something with his neck and back, pretty sure hes all better now, saw him bout a month ago at our show. think hes gettin the itch to come back, and were hoping he does.

I wonder what happened to the two nice new ones. They had a picture of them on their site which is still online.

Maybe Gursoy has them in his possession. Or maybe they were sold off. I know they were new though. I remember seeing pictures from Lars when he went to visit down there. I think he got one of the first new 18s that went into production once again. I know Rami Amir has another. He has it on Lake Mary in Twin Lakes. He has a 250 or 300 Merc on the back. I guess it really moves. I know he hardly ever uses it though.
