A word about Tom Miller: Most people associated with the show water ski world know Tom Miller and his boats. For those of you that are not familiar with him here is a very brief introduction. Tom worked with Ab Crosby Sr when they were building the original 18. There are many pictures of those boats on this forum. The 18 was used extensively in the show ski world. Tom worked with Ab Crosby Jr when they were building the 20 which became the backbone of the show ski world. There are many pictures of that boat here too. Needless to say that he is very familiar with the details of the construction of those boats. After Hydrodyne ceased production of outboards Tom’s company which is Fiberglass Products and Boat Repair started producing the boats again with the original molds and workmen. His boats are easy to identify, the serial numbers are stamped in the transom and begin with “FPD”. They are an improved version of the originals. Prior to 2005 or 06 they might have a Dyna Ski logo on them or have no logo. After 2005 or 06 they would have a “the Dyne” logo or no logo. Tom is married to the former Bev Crosby who is a member of the forum and Ab Crosby Sr’s daughter. He can custom build you an 18 or a 20. Really neat how it stayed all in the family isn't it with Bev and Tom and of course Ab Jr. Kinda like the Miller Boats of Santa Maria, CA.........my hometown! Building boats since the 1950's and now a Father and Son venture. I just heard lately that they are building boats and I though they were just doing restorations now. http://www.millercustomboats.com/index.htm One of my friends owns a 1986 Miller boat and he brought it to the San Antonio gathering this past July.
Below is the price list - which I got from Tom just today. It is a .pdf so I'm not sure if it will show up or not. So.... although your reply is coming 6 years after Jim's post, I coincidentally can respond with current information.
Well, I've been exploring some options..... However, it appears that, based on my oldest son's high school football practice schedule, it might start getting more difficult to get out on the water for the next few years so I have cooled off on the idea a bit.... but... we'll see...
Ah yes, you're approaching that point where kids priorities are trumping yours! For me it's their desire to be with their friends, and now a part time job. Dam, who knew that would happen when we raised independent kids...
