Any of you that use your boats for show skiing, where did you get your trick release from? I have one on my Mastercraft Prostar 190 but the pylon on my hydrodyne is much wider. Thanks in advance for all your help!

Where are you located? I'll be at Think Tank on March 1 and KW will be there. I could pick one up for you.

Single pin? Roller release? The roller style release is about $200 and the recreational release is $140 ish. I would get the roller style. I assume you have a 2 7/8" pylon?

From what I have seen, KW is the only brand that gets used in show skiing. It's a great product. I too would go with the roller release. It has a smoother release, especially under larger loads, and has a larger pin so you can put multiple ropes or larger diameter ropes (leaders) into it.

Lake Elmo sports (link provided by Jim) is a good source for KW equipment. If you email them, you will probably end up talking with Chuck. Mention which team you are with, and he may be a nice guy and give a bit of a discount. Or you can go straight to the source (KW) when he is at an event (as Must-Ski Motors mentioned).

For you southern guys, Bemmans in Winterhaven, FL also makes a high quality roller release. I have never seen one on a Dyne, but I am sure he could make one. He makes all kinds of show ski stuff. I had a custom made Bemmans on an Ebbtide. I still have that release but it is the wrong size for the Dyne.

    I think the number is:

    863 293 2405.

Jim - Thanks for the offer! I'm kinda of kicking myself that I didn't buy one when I was at D1 Nationals. I would take you up on the offer but I think I need to buy it myself so I don't have any warranty problems. My ski team bought three releases for our inboards and two of the three had defective pins and rusted in the salt water. I don't want to run into any problems since we regularly perform on salt water. Thanks for all the info!
