What do most people use their dyne for? I was always a slalom skier. I know people who used it mostly for trick and alot mostly for barefoot. But slalom was always my favorite thing to do behind our Dyne.Just wondering. Also nothing beats the look or feel of the boat on a lake of glass early morning or late night!Don't mind me I am just rambling now!

A lot of barefooting was done with some friends, trick skiing, kneeboarding, slalom, ballet practice- heelhold, t-bar, etc., as well as "everyone's" personal favorite swivel- caugh caugh <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_redface.gif" border="0" alt="Embarassed" title="Embarassed" />. NO TUBING ALLOWED, captain's rules! And remember it is NEVER the driver's fault.

No tubing!!! you must not be on a public lake! That is the only thing to do when all the weekend yahoos who don't know anything about boats come out and the water does not calm until dark

My dyne is in the process of getting a new transom, so its main use is to consume time and money, and make me itch. When that is done, it is going to be used with our ski team, to pull more skiers than an inboard should at one time.

Rambling Daniel C......check out my post in response to your other post! LOL!

Yeah Plantman, those wake boats sure mess up the water and makes tubing the only alternative many times.

I went out once in the early morning, only once as I couldn't shake the ice cream headache I got doing it......so I guess I am not hardcore enough to do it.

I go camping early in the week and catch lots of glass before all the weekenders show up days later......alas, it is just me and my two younger boys so getting a ski pull is out of the question. But I do love being able to go fast on the lake with no fear on glass and rip it up in my Elgin! Talk about a rush! It was so glassy that I was able to spin circles and never once hit my own wake.....that was COOL and my boys had a blast!

She uses one ski and the paddle with the blade forward to get up on. The water pressure holds the paddle against her foot. After she drops the ski I add enough power to keep the spray out of her face. The faster you go the lower the spray hits the skier.

I have seen her do a toe hold on the paddle. You have to remember that she is a former professionl skier and former national champion. Stuff that is easy for her is hard for the rest of us.

There are other ways to do it. Some people start with the paddle under their arm and ski with the handle forward.

This is a reply to an old post, but I just happened to stumble upon a photo from a few years back when I did just that for some friends that called me on a claim that I could ski on a canoe paddle. Got up just as Jim describes. The handle of the paddle extends back into the water. Lots of spray.

If my memory serves me correctly, the MinAquaBats used to get up using one ski and then made it look easy with the canoe paddle handle forward-back in the good old days when the only thing that could pull a ski act was an honest to goodness Hydrodyne 18, built in Indiana and powered by twin Johnson 135's. As in the Lovely AND Talented Swivski's case, it seemed easy for them as well.
