hey guys found this picture of the club de skinautiues old dyne. I'm not too sure what year it is or for how long it was used by the club. Basicly the only thing I know is that its a hydrodyne. Here are some facts about this Dyne and the Club. This picture would have been taken around 1980. The Club would had this boat from the early seventies to sometime in the late eighties when they upgraded to a 20' Hydrodyne. The boat was originally rigged with twin Merc 1150's and then later Merc 150 Black Max's. It was quite common back then for the ski show to start with a 'BOAT DEMO' which usually included a few turns as pictured above. The Club de Skinautique has used a Hydrodyne boat every year for over 35+ years. Last year the Club celebrated its 50th Anniversary with a reunion party and show. North Dakota Dyne probably knows more as he bought this boat after they bought a 20'er. Lots of good memories. Including the first time I drove this boat (unrestricted). Kevin
sorry about that... i was supposed to post that.... i found it on facebook. It was on our club group.
It looks like a generation II boat (stringer boat). The only rope guard I have seen like that is on skischooler's boat which is a 78. jim
I used to own this dyne, i bought it from the club, and might i say i enjoyed it,it was a good running boat, currently rigged with a /1985/235 johnson(which i got my use out of) the first year we had it in the water i towed 5 skiers i kneeboard and a tobogan(sled) all at once, but had to use my spotter and another friend for counter weights it took about 1min to finally get on plane. NORTH DAKOTA DYNE
Hey Anthony, Did they ever tell you about the time they sunk the Dyne? I know it happened cause I was the first guy there in the "safety boat" to pick them up. Kevin
i knew it had been sunk, and i know there are alot more stories surrounding this particular "dyne" i will work on uploading a boat demo i have on video from 1986,the last year the club had it in operation with a single 200 black max unfortunatly my dyne will not be up and running this year due to a piston ring failure in drivers side engine" i plan on re-building the transom and floor this summer and have it re finished before next summer. if i happen to see you up at the lake this summer i would gladly buy some gas if you would give me a ride in the Dyna-Ski! thanks Anthony
Anthony, No need to buy gas. I'll trade you a ride in the Dyna-Ski anytime for a ride in your Dyne when you get back on the water. You can find me through the club. My son is there most weekends, except this one because of the rain. Cheers, Kevin
