I just found this site, and am GLAD I did!!
I have a great old Hydrodyne 1957 17' Runabout I acquired from a friend. I am taking on the task of restoring it. It has the 4 link/coil spring full suspension seat (never seen that before) bench seat and very cool retro look. It needs transom work, some deck work and a lot of tidying up and of course, paint. I have figured out most of it, but I don't understand whether this boat actually had a floor or whether the hull served as the floor as well. Anyone with any knowledge of this boat, please tell me how they were originally made. Thanks in advance!
By the way, it had a mid 80's Evinrude 4 cyl 90 hp motor, and has been used to fish in the Gulf of Mexico up till the day I got her! I will remove the motor and try to find a period-accurate motor. I should prove to be an interesting process!!
    Thanks!!
