1974 Hydrodyne

    It used to be common practice for IL to register WI trailers as "homemade" if the original certificate of origin was not available. So, that should not have been a problem.

    The states usually want the vehicle registered in the state where it spends most of it's time.

    I know Bob had the trailer registered here in IL when he purchased the new 18' from me. If I recall he had problems registering it with the DMV. Hopefully he will see this and chime in.

    Like Jim said, you have to register it as homemade here in Illinois.

    OK, finally got searching again and found the HIN plate for my boat. It was located on the transom, starboard side under the aft deck. It was tough to find because the trim power pack had been installed just in front of it.

    The HIN is stamped on a metal plate and the no. is AO730560. I'm still wondering if the digits 73 means it was manufactured in 1973?
