Purchased this as a project with my skiing partner in crime. This is my first dyne and his second. Purchased from the Minneiska Ski Team in Whitewater, WI in July 2008. Performed some basic prep work on it that fall and then continued with the rest of the "fixer-up" in Spring 2009 and had it out kicking butt on the water by late June '09. We purchased it with trailer, hydraulic steering, fuel tank, pole, and Air-Guides. Hull, floor and transom were quite solid. We repaired fiberglass, sanded, primed and painted with Interlux Perfection roll-on, reattached fin, new rub rails, all new hardware, fuel lines, seats from the old dyne, re-did the interior, installed the 225hp Opti with new Smartcraft gauges, new decals, and hooked up cable controls with a Livorsi remote. Lot of work, some frustrations, a LOT of learning, and definitely fun and worth it. I can't believe how much I love this boat, and the work on it makes it that much more special. Looking forward to a FULL summer this year!
Re: 1988 Hydrodyne 20' w/ 220hp Opti That is a great motor/boat combination in my opinion. Now you own a beautiful Hydrodyne with some history. You almost have to experience it to appreciate it. jim
Re: 1988 Hydrodyne 20' w/ 220hp Opti There is no better ski boat in my opinion than a 20 dyne/dyna-ski with a 3.0+L motor on it. They are cadillacs on the water.
I looked at that boat when Jim was selling it for the club. You guys really did a "GREAT" job of bringing it back to it's original look. Have fun with it this summer !!!!! Bob
