I just joined. I am hoping someone can give me some info on the last of the boats built in Fort Wayne, IN. I just picked up a low hour boat. It is a closed bow direct drive boat. The model is called an "Avenger". I have been searching the internet but haven't found much of anything other than a few posts about the V-drive Nexstar boat from 97. I was told the boat was pre-production because the company got closed before they could truly ramp up production of boats that year. I believe only a hand full of boats were made out of the 3 models (closed bow dd, open bow dd & the open bow v-d). I do know this boat was one of about a dozen boats left in the plant when the assets were sold. I also know the molds went to Calabria Boats. I did work for Hydrodyne in the mid 90s building the 94/95 inboards. They were well built boats & we took a lot of pride in making them. A few of us in the finish assembly area use to sign our names on some of the boats we were especially proud of. If you ever run across a signature hidden someplace in a mid 90's boat & wondered how it got there that's why. Knowing some of the Fort Wayne history on the boats is why after seeing this boat I jumped on the chance to purchase it.

Why not go straight to the source and talk to Ab Jr or Tom Miller?
