I have a 1995 evinrude vindicator on my 18 foot Hydrodyne. The motor is going through a lot of gas. I am running in the 2500-3500 rpm range. I have a 1992 fast strike found like Jim's motor. I am working on a trade. The vindicator is 453 lbs, and the fast strike is 370. My questions are: is it normal for a 200 hp engine to go through 80 dollars worth of gas? Will the fast strike be better on gas in my running rpm range? Thanks, Jason
My fast strike is pretty economical. I run lower power settings most of the time, but I would think it would be an improvement over the 200. jim
