I believe KW or BI (forgot which one) has a gunnel mounted boom. You could put that anywhere you wanted it, but you have to attach mounting brackets to the top of both gunnels. And I'm not sure if there is any height adjustment with it mounted that way. On an 18'er it would be really low.

i saw those on lakeelmosports.com i dont mind those its just that my family doesnt want to be drilling holes into the sides of our boat...and i was also worried about the height of it on a 2006 17ft dyna ski

You should be just fine with the V-drive boom. Start there and if you have to, add the extension. Should work well. I have a Barefoot International height adjuster on mine also and the whole setup works fine for my 7 yr old or a 6' 2" friend.

so i went to put the V drive boom on the boat and found out that the the clamp does not fit on the pylon. Dad called up barefoot international and they said the thing to do is order a new clamp specially made to fit the pylon. ( which i did) must-ski motors what did you do?? since the clamp that comes with the boom does not fit the pylon.

The 3" boom clamp works fine on the 2 7/8" pylon for me........I also have the height adjuster.

Finally got the Boom on. Wow, i loved it. Had some people barefooting on it and was showing some kids how to ski on both one and two skis. In my opion it was the best buy for the boat!!!
