I am in the process of doing exactly what you are planning on with the coosa. Check out my thread under restorations "1972 keel up restoration". Coosa not difficult to work with but messy - wear long sleeve shirts when cutting it.

I hope to restore the 2 cycle 150 Black Max, if not workable looking at an Evinrude e-tec G2 somewhere between 150 and 300. I read thru your entire thread, lots of good Ideas, I like the triangular tank and the arched transom well profile.
I have only had the boat 5 weeks and need to get boat motor and trailer ready for next memorial day, quite a challenge.

It would be possible to put a 2.5 liter (later and better) power head on your midsection.

Busy past 2 months, (Pictures to Follow), trailer nearly rebuilt and painted, all new hardware. Keeping the roller set up but with all new rollers, added front Keel roller. After sitting on the trailer for over 10 years not even a slight dimple in the hull. As I have the same set up on the big block inboard with no hook and the ease of loading and unloading that boat I see now good reason to move to bunks. Trailer lowered 1.5 inches, removed tilt feature, and welded up new drag bar to replace twisted original. New LED sealed lights and electric winch in process of installation. Once trailer is done will boat and Motor will move forward a bit faster. Unfortunately have about 2 other big projects going as well.

Only about 8 months before next memorial day, still a big challenge to complete on time.

Boat has stringers removed, as well as the bulkheads. Boat is nearly stripped of bolt on stuff. Hull work is starting. Motor is stripped of all electrical and carbs etc.
Mark B's and other's pictures have been very helpfull, .thank you.
