Any opinions on the best spacing to use between engines on a twin? Our last twin was set up so the top center holes could be used to mount a single in the center (for single or triple use). I don't see that as being necessary this time around, but would like the option of going to big blocks in the future.

The most recommended spacing by manufacturers is 26 inches. It makes things really easy if you just find the centerline and drill the boat for a single rig (top two holes only, not the bottom two) and then use those two holes as the inside holes for the twin engines. This will give you a spacing of 25 7/8. This spacing will allow you to run any 2 stroke big block motor on the market. 24 inches will not allow you to run twin 200HO and up Evinrudes. Or you can just drill it for 26 inches.
