What a major advancement in the world of water skiing. Nautique just introduced a prototype Nautique that is 100% electric, no emissions. Way to go Nautique! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UbTAbLadB0
Here's another clip of the boat. This one you can hear the noise of it better. So who is going to be the first member here to experiment and convert their Dyne to an electric powertrain? lol http://www.clickorlando.com/video/26892628/index.html Greg
This is a good concept to start testing on. However, consider this. 746 watts equals one horsepower. With the batteries in electric vehicles, there is a time factor used to determine how long the battery will last. The battery in a Chevy volt is rated at around 16 KWH. That means the battery in a Chevy Volt can put out 16,000 watts, for an hour. That sounds like a lot of power. But if you do the math, divide 16,000 by 746, you get about 21.45 Horsepower, for an hour. That probably will pull your star swivel girl. The final pyramid, or barefoot line, not so much.
From the looks of the video it seems as though it has just as much power and performance as a normal Nautique. I think that is why they used the slalom skier in the course as a demonstration. You are correct though, no Nautique should be pulling pyramids, or barefoot lines. Leave that to the Big Dogs!
