    Hi all,

Sorry about the spam posts that popped up and weren't deleted. Did anybody order any waxed pine decks from India?

I normally visit several times per day, as I have done forever, to make sure things are going smoothly, and I noticed that there hadn't been any new posts. Well...show up tonight to find out that I haven't been logged in this entire time...at least a week, so no new posts were showing up for me. That explains it.

    D'oh!!

So if you do need a pine deck, I'm sure I could put you in touch with Priya and s/he would be happy to help you out. In the meantime, keep on Dynin'!

Now there is a really weird post on Show Skiers supposedly from China. It almost looks like code.

Heh. Yeah, got those ones too. The spam bots are getting smarter.

Without the bots we would hardly have any traffic! :yahoo:

I think it is obvious that they are not available or I would have one.

Why don't you email 2mercs instead of posting in this obscure thread, although the forum is pretty dead so any activity is good I guess.

I'll alert Daniel to this post (and the other). He has been really busy with the move and new job and such. He'll be back really soon. Last I heard, he wasn't able to get a hold of the guy.

Just think...we can teach the Chinese and Indians to ski, and they can build us pine decks. :yahoo: I see a lucrative partnership.

In any event, we actually get a lot of traffic on the site, and possibly surprisingly, it hasn't gone down at all. Unfortunately, not all that traffic converts to forum members and posts. We actually average around 2.5 million hits a year including this year so far. ShowSkiers, for example gets the exact same numbers on average (except for 2009, when they got 3.5 million hits), but has almost 3 times the forum members.

It's a shame because the forum here is a wealth of information. I don't know if a lot of people just read without joining or what the exact issue is, but Hydrodyners is about 1/3 as good at converting visitors to forum members as Showskiers is.

Thanks Bryan! Personally I read the forum for a long time out of interest, but didn't actually join until I finally got a Dyne (which was heavily influenced by reading the thread for a long time).

The boats are pretty obscure with no advertising.

Back when Pam and I were active in the individual tournaments the boat attracted a lot of attention, but only from Dyne fans. The boat had a reputation for small wake and really good speed control. Everyone that saw it run knew that.

I remember that the first time I saw one I knew that I had to have one.

If the general public knew how good they are, I think they would be enough demand to certify the 18 to current standards which I believe is possible with minimal modifications, in spite of what has been said on that issue.

A lot has been said about 200 hp is the minimum for a good pull. My 150 will pull your arms off. I think 115 or 125 would be plenty for a family boat. My daughter's boat is powered by a 75 and they love it.

The forum seems to mirror the 18, there are just not many left.

I do appreciate all the work that you and Daniel do.
