The release is a good idea. My youngest flipped over on the kneeboard this summer and he had his knees under the strap. He got trapped under water for a bit and it scared him pretty bad. Thus, when he tried to ski and fell, it scared him again and that was it. I did have the connector on their for him and that does seem to help. I used it for my daughter as well, over my dad's objection - of course!
KW makes a nice release. I think mine is a KW. The only other that I would consider would be a Bemans and I don't know if they made one for a Dyne. They could though. jim
My son doesn't even use the strap on the kneeboard for that reason. He does just fine without, but I suppose he will have to use it when he starts doing fancier things. The bar on the ski is very limiting. It prevents them from cutting at all. After he learned to get up, I think he would have done better without it on there. I tried to take it off of there several times, but he is very stubborn. MMM, I wonder where he got that from?
Pic is from "jachainshier" I would have to bribe the kids to go skiing [kneeboarding, wakeboarding], 2 laps of skiing would equal 1 lap of tubing. The kids could combine there laps if they went tubing together. But now with the new boat, the threat of going mach 2 on a whip, and this pic I hope they will ski more next summer. Rob
