Last day the boat was out on the water. Photo taken on Lake Minocqua.

Me at the wheel. Having fun. Big, huge fun.

C'Mon, folks. I know you visit the site. I see you logged in. Let's start sharing some of your great Hydrodyne pictures from the summer. I've got more, but it is a long winter.. I've got to hold back here... ;)

We are not through (sorry) so I will take more pictures and videos. I got the boat out and test drove it and cleaned it up last week. We have some skiers coming. The water is up a foot due to the rain. It was never too low to boat or ski.

My season was cut short due to the battle over the dam with the DNR this summer. Too shallow by the end of the season.

Must be nice living in Florida!

Yep, been busy with a house remodeling project. I drove 150 hours for the ski team this summer and put another 90 on between my boat and a friend's dyne.

Here are a couple pics from vacation, one with the 4 yr old skiing on the boom. The 7 yr old did a ton of footing on the boom this year and I think will be ready for short line and maybe long line next year.

How do you like the bowrider? Are the bow seats usable for adults or do you use them mostly for gear?

Twas a great summer with the 68 Dyne. Handy for our annual family weekend too. This is a good thread -- here's my contribution:

Dyner68 - beautiful looking I/O dyne. That is pretty.

Jim - as far as the open bow, the boat performs perfect for us for a family that uses it for 1) hardcore skiing with 3 girls who will be skiing for 20+ years 2) cruising lake chains like Minocqua when on vacation, we loaded up our crew of 5 plus our friends crew of 4 and it was nice for a slow cruise with plenty of room and tons of storage and 3) I still like to go fast and it will do 55+.

I'm not really a fan of open bows, but I share ownership of a 20' closed bow with a friend - that is on the lift at the house as well with a 250 E-Tec and we use it exclusively for early mornings and training. So I have the best of both worlds I guess. The Open Bow does have enough storage under the passenger seat/bow to completely hide the barefoot international V-drive boom and we can fit every ski and board we own plus vests etc under the rear storage.

Great posts. Thanks for sharing some pictures. I hope more people do. It is one of the things that has made this website what it is.

Here's my youngest son being coached in Hydrodyne know-how by my dad. Or... I'm sorry, my dad being coached by my son, who knows full well how to handle the Hydrodyne. Grampa is used to pulling skiiers behind the Dyne but Ben had to show him a few things about play time in the Dyne. Unlike my dad, I was holding on because I knew what was coming...

This also was on Lake Minocqua.

Here's my brother's (sbano on this website) 1959 Crosby Sportsman with a 1959 Mercury Mark 35. Same day, on Lake Minocqua, with his wife, his oldest son (driving) and my mom. My brother rebuilt and repainted this boat himself. It took 2 years. It was worth the effort. I can't quite explain the pleasure that driving this boat brings. You have to drive a 14' true V-hull with soft chines, a "cockpit" and that old world feel to know what I'm talking about.

We were supposed to hook up with Must-Ski that day but he had to leave N. WI early that weekend. We toured the lake in the Hydrodyne and the Crosby. It was a great day. What fun, to be out in these two classic boats. We did get quite a bit of attention at the gas station (pictures attached).

Of course, my oldest son wanted to waterski through the Minocqua-Bats show course behind the Dyne. Hard to blame him for that.

The Hydrodyne might have stood at attention on its transom outside the Thirsty Whale that day. Can't really recall. There's no photographic evidence, in any event.

Enjoy the pictures. Thanks for posting some of your own.

I think I have posted this before and the picture was taken a few years ago. How is this for an "old world" feel Mark?

It is a 55 Thompson with a 49 Johnson 22 hp rope start.
