Im wanting to change some things around in my 18 Dyne, I have allready taken the floor up, old foam, ( stringers still in good shape for a 1978) and going to re-paint, carpet and seats. I would like to know if anyone has any pictures of differant style seating in there Hydrodynes that I could get some good ideas on, as you know, most pictures taken that you see on this site, usually you really cant see any seating configurations. Any ideas with some pictures would be great !!

    Thanks in advance,
    Rodney,

I re-upholstered my metal frame seats. I don't think they can be beat.

If you have the metal frame seats, please do not throw them away. Someone here will want them.

Their advantage is that they get three people all the way forward in the boat which makes pulling up a load a lot easier and makes the boat ride flatter. You can also store stuff under them and have good access to the forward compartment.

    Jim is right:

I haven't posted in a while but have checked in every know and then. The 75 never saw water last year, other than pulling it out of storage and rewinterizing it to make sure the gas in the carb didn't turn to varnish.

If you have the original aluminum frame structure, redoing the original seats its the best and most comfortable. my configutation is similar to Jim's (see attached) with a drivers and bench. We redid a 1973 a few years back (aso see attached). THe 73's structure was original and constructed with plywood structure which had turned to dirt over time and exposure. The end result was good but not the same as the aluminum originals; we used an aftermarket drivers seat and found some aluminum brachets at Kendor Marine (Milwaukee, WI) but the bench was not as strong, they bent.

    Good luck with your quest,

    Kevin
