Re: 1973 Hydrodyne Twin Ouch! Better to lose a blade, than a lower unit. For a long time, you could get lower units for the inline 6 merc, because a lot of them around here were converted to jet pumps. Not so much, anymore.
Re: 1973 Hydrodyne Twin New props are on tuned up both engines. Found out that Champion does not make the spark plugs any more (Champions were Original Equipment on the Mercs, so I have always put Champions in it) so now I have to use NGK's. Monday Bryan and I are going to take it out shoot some video and do some skiing. It is still in the high 70s here sometimes low 80s so it should make for a nice day. Re: 1973 Hydrodyne Twin The BUHW is commonly used in the non electronic V-6 and other mercs. If that plug has issues in your motors, there are alternatives. It's a good plug. jim
Re: 1973 Hydrodyne Twin We will see how she works, that was the only time I used champion plugs. The way I look at it is champions are lawnmower plugs and nothing else I run NGK in most of my other small stuff and OEM plugs in my car and truck Daniel
Re: 1973 Hydrodyne Twin I use both. I like the champions because they are plated. If you use a good grade of anti-seize on them, it should not matter. I use Champions in the motor on the Dyne. It has never fouled a plug. It is not a highly tuned motor, that is why it is so good for skiing. jim
My Dyne I don't remember if I posted these pics of when My dyne went through its mid life refurb. Daniel
