    Hey Trey:

Based on your earlier comments, you indicated that the pylon is missing but it shows up in your pics provided?? Also looks like it was a Wisconsin boat as in the WI in the boat id. Is this the original color or was it painted?? no matter either way but if it's gelcoat we're looking at, it can be brought back with a bit of effort.

The comment re the manifold hopefully will not lead to the engine being hydro-locked by the divider in the manifold failing and letting water into the exhaust valve side. However, marine motors of this vintage are readily available and usually for a reasonable price.

Going to give the HD 20 i/o a sponge bath tonight (hope my wife dosen't read this),

dynebob, the trailer is in great shape structurally from everything I examined today. paint needs a little sprucing up

oldskier, I like the blue also but since gonna be neck deep anyways been pondering hard on a color change. only other HD Ive seen in person is a fellow here in Columbus that has a white in decent shape.

kevinb, yessir like I posted last night with some digging and talking I located the pylon from the third owner after I sold it. just dumb luck really. it is a Mississippi boat. always has been as I bought the boat (the first time) from the original owner here in Columbus. it has MS registration stickers on the side. it is the original color just faded out now. there is some gelcoat on it that will get some attention at a later date. haven't really even messed with the engine yet gonna get the floor back right first

well the ridiculous fishing boat seats are gone and the wet carpet is out. ive got her in drying out mode now

    its all uphill from here

    Hey Trey:

The pylon is back, NICE! The pics also show that the passenger inboard top deck is a little wavy?? it this true?? Hopefully not structural with the hull. Ok, I got the MI mixed up with the WI for the registration after looking closer. As Bob pointed out, you have a nice trailer and boat package once it's been restored.

yea I was looking at it tonight it is wavy, everything I have seen or heard with the hull is good IMO but I am by far a expert. but what I see is the metal angle is missing that went on the bottom of the deck and it screwed to a maybe 1x6 that was not treated wood so it is rotted and separated from the fiberglass is my guess. but I did take the speedometer off the back of transom like mr jim said to and one side had maybe a thimble full come out and the other side had none. so that did make me feel somewhat better

Trey, just my opinion but I dont think there is such a thing as "just a thimbleful" of water in a transom....others opinions may vary....

I agree. I would be very concerned. Where there's smoke there's fire....

I understand what your saying any water in a place where there shouldn't be any is not a good thing. i thought that little bit of water was not that big of a deal it was like four maybe five drops came out the screwhole but again im not expert so im gonna take it to a body shop here that does a lot of boats. gonna get their opinion on a few things including the transom so I guess we will see. ive got the floor out now, I would say 50% of the stringers are gone.

If 50% of the stringers are gone you can bet the transom is too.

I would drill some small holes from the inside to check for moisture, and seal them well.
