Looks pretty cool Bob Cool So now the question of the day. What prop are you going to put on that bad boy Dyne?

    Edd,

That's a good question. I wll probably start with the 21 pitch High-Five I currently have. I spoke with two engineers at Mercury in Fond du Lac and they said maybe a 23 Pitch.

It's not that I want to run the top end on this boat, but want it to pull like a tank. I know you have a vast knowledge about this subject...so any and all help you could lend would be appreciated.

    Thanks !!!!

    Bob

Anything over a 19 pitch will give you way more speed than you would ever pull a skier at. A 17 pitch on a 175 can hold 40 pretty easily with 4 200 lb barefooters.

Don't forget guys. this motor comes standard with a 1.75 to 1 gear ratio. 1.62 is optional.

In this case a 16 will run like a 17 with the 1.87.

I know that when the 150 was on that boat it was bouncing of the bottom of the Airguides with that 21p high five. I can't help that think that anything from that on down would be best. After conversing with Bob he stated that the new motor is only 80lbs difference between the 150 that was on there, and his new beast. That's less than having one person sitting in the back, so I don't think that is an issue of weight. I think the new 18's sit a little higher in the water than the old ones. I don't know what attributes to this, but that is just my observation after being an owner of a new one. The good thing for Bob is that the tank is mounted in the bow, so that will help counter alot. I know a lot of you guys have your tanks in the rear by the transom. If I recall correctly it is a 19 gallon size. I know the Gulf Coast Skimmers have a new Tom Miller built 18 with twin 150s on it, and it doesn't sit dangerously low in the back. And god knows that weighs more than a single 250. I think it is safe to say the Bob is the new envy of the members of this web site.

This was taken while sitting still. Plenty of room with the 150, there should be no problem with the 250 if it is only 80 lbs more.
