Re: Hydrodyne 13K 73414 I am going to guess that the serial number is on the port side chine about 6-12 inches forward of the transom. It is probably taped over and painted. (inside the boat). In layman talk it would be on the right hand side facing aft. The chine is the sort of notch in the side of the hull. jim
Re: Hydrodyne 13K 73414 One more thing, by federal law the starter, alternator, carburetor (or fuel injection), and distributor all have to be rated for marine use, (coast guard approved). The stock auto stuff is illegal. This is for fire prevention. jim
Re: Hydrodyne 13K 73414 WOW! Thanks guys. 1. No fins on bottom 2. Getting documents for boat not possible. (No contact) 3. Motor modified by marine engine builder. 4. I will check for numbers where described. Last, a couple more pics which show the middle section of the 'blower' removed. Is/was that typical to a particular year or, at least, era? Thanks again, you guys are THE monster Dyn boys!
Re: Hydrodyne 13K 73414 Found these on the site. I'm guessing by the picture numbering this is a '69. VERY similar to mine with the lone exception being it's superior condition. I'm determined to confirm my year by finding a number on/in it. Mark
Re: Hydrodyne 13K 73414 It looks like to me from the pictures that your instrument panel is smaller and flatter than that boat. A close up would help. jim
Re: Hydrodyne 13K 73414 I think the poor picture of my panel is deceiving, I'll forward a close up later today. I've been doing some more reading & have noticed you're everywhere Jim. Awesome; I'm sure everyone here feels fortunate to have someone so passionate & helpful 'on board'. Yeah, bad pun, I know! Regards, Mark
Re: Hydrodyne 13K 73414 Look on the transom, on the starboard side, below the rub rail. There should be a number cast into the gelcoat The number Ideally will be in the form of three letters, five digets, one letter "A" through "L" , and three more numbers. Example: THI DO203 B292 THI Hydrodynes Identifier, assigned by the Coast Guard. DO203 I think this means Dual Outboard, #203 A January B Feburary C March D April E May F June G July H August I September J October K Novenber L December B2 means the boat was made in February, 1992 92 means it is a model year 1992 boat A boat made later in the calendar year might the following model year. Example: last four digets K495 made in November, 1994, model yeat 1995 boat.
Re: Hydrodyne 13K 73414 Only the numbers on the hull will tell for sure. Still can't find any i/o dynes with a cover that separates like that. My 68 never had fins either so I'm gonna bet it's a 1969 with a modified engine cover.
